Just Something Natural
As a makeup artist, it doesn’t take long to realise that everybody has a slightly different interpretation of a look.
Over the years, I have been asked to create a “natural” look by many, many people, but rarely do two “natural” looks come out the same.
So what is natural? Is it glowing skin? Nude lips? Brown tones of eye shadow? That’s the beauty of beauty – everyone is different! Which means that everyone’s interpretation of “natural” or “glamour” or “red lip” is different. What’s natural to me, won’t necessarily be natural to you.
The Point!
This is where I come to my point (!). When you are meeting with a makeup artist (or hair stylist, or florist, or dressmaker) it is ESSENTIAL that you have given some thought to the look that you want to achieve. Please, please, please have some reference images on hand to show the artist, so that we can see what it is that you are dreaming of. It doesn’t matter how many reference images you have. If you like the eye makeup of one and the lips of another – that’s fine!
Take some time to really look at the images you have chosen. What is it you like about those images? Is it colour of the model’s eyes? If so, unfortunately, there’s not much I can do for you J If, however, it’s the style of eye makeup or the blush colour or the fact that there’s not a lot of highlighter, then I can definitely work with that!!
Something else that’s really helpful in getting to know your tastes and preferences is showing us the colour of your bridesmaids’ dresses/flowers/invitations. What style is your wedding going to be? What kind of jewellery will you wear? This will help to create a beautiful, cohesive look for your special day.
